This lovely woman is seen 11 months after breast reduction. Large breasts can cause back and shoulder pain, deep shoulder grooves, and difficulty with exercise and daily activities.
Breast reduction removes excess skin and breast tissue, while reshaping the breast and repositioning the nipple and areola to a more lifted position on the breast.
Typically one night in the hospital is included for comfort. A drain may be used to help with swelling and soreness, especially when a larger volume of breast tissue is removed. Patients are usually back to full activities 4 to 6 weeks after surgery.
