Can my baby breastfeed or use a bottle after Cleft Palate Repair surgery?

Can my baby breastfeed or use a bottle after Cleft Palate Repair surgery?

So for our palate repair patients, we typically try to get them on a sippy cup before surgery for at least a month, so they get used to feeding from that cup. And then that way, after surgery, they can go straight back to a cup that doesn’t push into the palate, it doesn’t have a nipple or other protrusion, a straw part that can poke a hole in the palate. We also have available syringes and then soft rubber tips that you can put on the end of a syringe to also do feeds that way.
