Panniculectomy Before & After Photos
Panniculectomy Before & After Case 1
Patients who have lost large amounts of weight often undergo this procedure to remove loose skin that remains after their weight loss.
Insurance companies sometimes will cover this surgery depending on severity of symptoms and degree of excess. Also, patients should be stable with their weight for at least 6 months for best results.
This is different from an abdominoplasty! A full abdominoplasty will redrape skin from the upper abdomen down, removing significantly more skin and tissue. A diastasis recti is repaired if present during an abdominoplasty, forming an internal corset. Liposuction is often performed as well to further refine contour.
Insurance unfortunately does not cover abdominoplasty and liposuction.
