Cyst Excision Before & After Photos

Cysts of different sorts may be present at birth, and grow gradually over time. Generally, these are due to cells that should grow outwards (like skin cells) that end up trapped under the skin.

As they grow, cysts can block visual development, cause pain, or lead to other symptoms.

If located towards the side of the eyebrow like seen here, excision is generally offered through a well-hidden scar where an eyelid lift is normally performed.

Other areas like the forehead are accessible with an endoscope and incisions hidden with the hair of the scalp.

Occasionally – especially for cysts between the eyes – further imaging like an MRI may be recommended to make sure there is no extension through the bones of the face and skull.
