Can we do any other procedures at the same time as the Cleft Palate Repair surgery? (Commonly, ear tubes, minor lip touch ups, tongue or lip tie release, etc)
So, normally with a palette surgery, if the child also has a cleft lip, we can perform a small touch up of the lip scar, a little bit of lip balancing at the same time. So, it’s a, it’s a good chance, since you’re already undergoing anesthesia, to do a small revision of the lip or nose at the same time with our patients with cleft palate. Almost every kid with a cleft palate, uh, will have problems with their, their ear tubes, with their Eustachian tubes working normally. And so, that’s a good chance to, under the same anesthesia, have ear tubes placed.
