When do you perform cleft lip repair surgery?

When do you perform cleft lip repair surgery?
For most children, a cleft lip repair is done between three and six months. That seems to be a good balance between the risks of anesthesia and also the children’s activity level to minimize the risk of problems healing afterwards. It’s also a good chance to let the child heal before proceeding with their palate surgery, between nine and 12 months of age.
